IDEA CONTEST: DO’S AND DON’TS (EPISODE-1)
“How amazing our idea was! But have you seen? That
bullshit idea got the champ title!!! Don’t know how the judges evaluate each
idea.”
“Disgusting,
I won’t come to such kind of damn competition. It seems they have chosen the
places before.”
So, guys,
these were all the questions that came around our thoughts whenever we
participate idea contests. However, we are trying to emphasize some do’s and
don’ts for idea contest.
This content
is actually for those who are-
a) Trying to participate in the
upcoming contests;
b) Have already given up your
efforts towards contest.
QUESTION NO. 1 ) Who can participate?
Anyone from any background or any age
can participate in these idea contests. Normally these sorts of idea contests
are open for all (except some terms and conditions).
“We are from commerce background, can
we participate in the power related contests? ” so for them, one example is
enough. In our country, an idea contest was held in the title of “EK IDEA TE
BAJIMAT 2017 ” in which the second place was gone to a team that came from IBA,
JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY. So, people from commerce and arts background, get
ready to rock.
Again, some of you are at job now or
so busy with your career. “How can we take part in these contests? We are so
grown up, these sorts of things are only for the green horns.” And you know
what? One of the seven champs of “National Power and Energy Hackathon 2017” was
a team of which all the members are at job now. So, again, your age doesn’t matter.
“You are aged, that means you have more
experience than the others”
QUESTION NO.2) What
type of your idea should be?:
This is the big question. You can not
go to any contest with any idea. You have to realize some simple but important
features. This will be discussed in some paragraphs in the following section.
#1.Type
of contest:
This question is far more important
than what type of your idea is.
For example, suppose the name of the
contest is “BE THE CHAMPION” you have got so excited because you have an amazing
idea that could change the whole educational system. You have gone to the
podium , presented your idea and got some claps(most importantly- that part
where you have expected more claps but got a few). You have got so upset. Judges
didn’t want to realize your idea. How amazing that was? You had nothing but to
sigh loudly. Afterwards, you came to know that contest was organized by UNICEF
and it was only for the better education for the physically disabled children. So,
what’s the value of your idea in such contest? So, contest selection is the
first priority.
“select the relevant contest that goes well
with your idea”
